Dirty Down Moss Effect - 25ml

Dirty Down Moss Effect creates a realistic, highly matte green moss finish on miniatures, scale models, terrain and dioramas. The effect develops naturally as it dries, producing variations in colour that resemble moss and organic growth on damp, weathered surfaces. Ideal for adding moss to stone walls, ruins, statues, buildings, tree trunks and other surfaces exposed to moisture and the elements.

Create natural weathering effects
Dirty Down Effects are designed to create realistic weathering with minimal effort. The effect develops as the liquid dries, creating natural variations in colour and texture. Apply thin coats for subtle weathering or build up multiple layers for a darker, more pronounced effect. You can also use a damp brush or cotton bud to remove or redistribute the effect, creating additional variation and highlighting surface details.

How to use

1. Prepare: Make sure the bottle and surface are at room temperature or warmer. Shake and stir thoroughly to mix any settled pigments.
2. Apply: Use a brush, sponge or airbrush to apply directly onto a clean, dry, non-porous surface.
3. Let dry: Allow approximately 1–5 minutes for the effect to develop and dry.
4. Build layers: Apply additional coats once dry to create a darker, more pronounced effect.
5. Adjust: Gently dab with a damp brush, tissue or cotton bud to create lighter and darker areas.
6. Clean: Clean your tools with water immediately after use.

Important information
Dirty Down Effects are water-soluble and can be reactivated by moisture, even after drying. For a more permanent finish, apply fine mist coats of acrylic varnish once fully dry. Varnishing may alter the final appearance, so test on a small area first. Avoid applying directly to porous surfaces and always test compatibility with painted surfaces.
