Keep it beside the painting desk when planning a new colour scheme; it can quickly suggest complementary colours, useful contrasts and possible mixes before any paint reaches the palette.

Use the wheel to explore mixtures
Select a colour on the outside wheel and align it with a colour on the inside wheel. The resulting mixture is displayed in the viewing window, providing a quick visual guide without having to mix paint first.
